Step inside the Irish Equine Centre and discover the science that safeguards Ireland’s horse population. This rare experience offers privileged, behind-the-scenes access to the specialists in disease diagnosis, prevention, management and forensic testing revealing the essential work that underpins Ireland’s world-class equine industry.
Your visit begins with a warm welcome and a short introductory film, enjoyed with refreshments, setting the scene for the Centre’s vital role. You will then meet the life-size anatomical horse to discover the physical and biological structures that define equine health.
From here, step directly into the world of equine science. Don a laboratory coat, goggles and gloves as you tour the working laboratories. Along the way, take part in a live experiment that offers real insight into a horse’s health or the wellbeing of the environment it depends on. This is an immersive, hands-on opportunity to witness the science behind equine excellence up close, guided by the experts who lead it.
