Step onto a seventh-generation family farm and discover one of Ireland’s oldest woodland traditions. For over two centuries, John and Ailish’s family have tended these 350 acres of rolling Tipperary farmland and woodland. This evening experience invites you to share in that legacy.

Meet Rupert, a powerful Irish Draught trained in timber work, a craft built on trust, voice commands and the quiet partnership between horse and handler. As John fits the harness, you watch subtle cues guide Rupert with calm precision.

A short walk along a rising farm pathway opens to sweeping Galtee Mountain views before a Corderry Connemara pony demonstrates the art of traditional log handling. Birds, leather and hoofbeats create the woodland soundtrack that has shaped rural Irish life for generations.

You’ll return to the yard for a chat over homemade scones, tea, and local preserves. You'll hear the wider story of Corderry from its ancient Irish Cillín (burial ground) to their world-class produce (including winning Best Fillet Steak in the World). Before you leave, there’s plenty of time for photos with remarkable horses.

Sustainability:
With 250 acres, our seventh-generation family farm blends heritage with modern stewardship: We care for two 5 acre biodiversity habitats, have bird & bat nesting boxes dotted around the farm, promote beekeeping, practice regenerative farming and have a no spray policy. While traditional horse logging promotes biodiversity and low-impact, regenerative forestry, revealing how working in harmony with nature preserves both the land and its legacy

For every 30 visitors we plant a native Irish hedgerow sapling, making everyone part of our living legacy of care for the land, wildlife, and nature
